Model: PD-15OUT-BL · Black
Single-outlet outdoor on/off plug for suitable lighting, motors/pumps and transformer loads within their separate manufacturer ratings. Home Assistant control uses a supported Lutron Caseta hub; safe-load and visible-from-every-control-location restrictions still apply.

What to know about this device before choosing a connection.
A recommendation is not recorded yet. Compare the requirements below with your home and the capabilities you need.
US PD-15OUT-BL, UPC 784276284813; hub and Pico sold separately. Use a GFCI-protected circuit, keep the cord end at least 3 inches above ground, and use extension cords rated at least 15 A. The manufacturer requires equipment visible from every control location and excludes motorized gates, garage doors, industrial doors, microwave ovens, heating pads, fireplaces and space heaters. Preserve the separate printed load limits, including 1200 VA (8 A) for transformers/magnetic ballasts. The IP65 specification, IP66 product page and official dual-rating note remain source-attributed; no delivered-unit certification is asserted. HA on/off mapping is source-reviewed, not physically tested. The retail review aggregate is a limited engagement proxy, not sales rank.
Check your ecosystem, then choose a connection method for its requirements and available controls.
A listed ecosystem is a starting point. Connection methods and exposed capabilities must be checked for the exact variant.

Documented
Use a GFCI-protected circuit; keep the cord end at least 3 inches above ground; extension cords must be rated at least 15 A. Equipment must be visible from every control location and be suitable for the exact approved load class. Do not operate motorized gates, garage doors, industrial doors, microwave ovens, heating pads, fireplaces or space heaters; these are non-exhaustive manufacturer examples. Respect local/national codes and the exact manual. Separate limits are 15 A lighting, 1/2 HP motors/pumps and printed 1200 VA (8 A) transformers/magnetic ballasts; no generic maximum is substituted.
Derived from documentation
Clear Connect Type A connects the plug to Lutron hub; hub Ethernet connects to a reachable local network.

Derived from documentation
For a new L-BDG2-WH or L-BDGPRO2-WH, follow Lutron setup: power, Ethernet, current Lutron app, account and Internet. Keep an already working hub configured. Then associate the outdoor plug under its exact manual.
Documented
After a suitable installation, follow the current Lutron app Add Device / Outdoor Smart Plug flow in the exact manual.
Documented
In HA, use the discovered hub or Settings > Devices & services > Add Integration > Lutron Caseta. Supply the hub address if required and follow on-screen pairing/physical-link instructions. Use the supported UI flow; do not reset an existing hub or expose/copy credentials into a public guide.
Derived from documentation
Confirm the associated outdoor plug appears as a switch. With a safe, suitable visible load, check on/off and its reported state. This is a recommended user verification step, not a test already performed. If absent, check vendor association, exact hub and LAN reachability rather than assuming firmware support.
Documented
Device button switches the outlet without a hub. This is not proof of a generic software-local-control scalar.
Derived from documentation
Hub-associated PD-15OUT-BL is handled as an on/off switch entity. Source implements turn_on, turn_off and is_on from reported current_state. No dimming, wattage, energy, OTA or physical-button event feature is inferred. Use only within the installation claim; switch availability does not make prohibited equipment suitable.
Not yet verified
No exact plug/hub firmware or minimum HA version established. Reviewed versions are evidence snapshots, not minimum requirements.
Derived from documentation
New hub onboarding uses account/app/Internet and Ethernet. The current HA UI route discovers or addresses the hub and pairs locally using TLS assets; official docs also retain a separate manual account/certificate option. Neither pairing nor credential generation was performed for this research.
Derived from documentation
HA manifest and docs classify this hub integration as Local Push. The source-established outdoor switch path uses that integration; powered plug, hub, HA and reachable LAN remain necessary. Vendor remote/cloud features and initial hub commissioning are separate.
Derived from documentation
The manufacturer describes hub-enabled remote app control, but this does not override the specification: equipment must remain visible from every control location, only suitable approved loads are allowed, and excluded equipment must not be operated. No arbitrary unattended/remote equipment use or HA cloud service promise is implied.

Derived from documentation
The established HA switch entity exposes on/off actions usable by HA automations while HA and the hub path operate. Manufacturer hub/app scheduling is a separate path. No physical-button-event trigger support is claimed. Automation or remote availability does not waive visibility, approved-load or excluded-equipment restrictions.
